WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) - Junior Sophia Tsafantakis (Washington, Mich.-Romeo) paced the Eastern Michigan University women's diving team on day one of the NCAA Zone C Championships at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center on the campus of Purdue University, March 15.
Tsafantakis was the only Eagle to qualify for the 3-meter finals, finishing with a 12th-place effort of 560.35. The Washington, Mich. native not only bested her 2018 finish by 22 places, but also topped divers from the Big 10's Northwestern University, Indiana University, and University of Michigan, as well as the Southeastern Conference's (SEC) University of Kentucky and the Atlantic Coast Conference's (ACC) University of Notre Dame.
