LAWRENCE, Kan. (EMUEagles.com) – A double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds from senior James Thompson IV (Baton Rouge, La.-Parkview Baptist) was not enough for the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team to overcome No. 5 University of Kansas Saturday, Dec. 29, as the Eagles fell 87-63 in non-conference action inside Allen Fieldhouse.

EMU (6-7) jumped ahead of KU (11-1) early, but after the Jayhawks took an 8-7 lead at the 16:57 mark and never looked back.

Thompson registered his second consecutive double-double, going 5-of-8 from the floor and pulling down seven rebounds on both the offensive and defensive ends.
