YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University softball team blasted a pair of home runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but its rally fell short against Ohio University, 4-3, Saturday, March 31, at Varsity Field.
Trailing 4-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, freshman Sophia Holland (Lugoff, S.C.-Lugoff-Elgin) led off the frame with a home run to center. However, the next three batters went down in order for the Eagles (4-25, 0-6 MAC) as the Bobcats (18-12, 6-0 MAC) escaped with a one-run victory.
EMU recorded three extra-base hits in the contest.
