Soccer's Second Half Surge Not Enough in MAC Quarterfinals Loss at BGSU

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Weathering rain and a field covered with puddles, a two-goal deficit proved to be too much for the Eastern Michigan University soccer team to overcome top-seeded Bowling Green State University Sunday, Oct. 28, at Cochrane Stadium. EMU cut the BGSU lead in half midway through the second period, but ultimately dropped the Mid-American Conference Quarterfinals match, 2-1.

Senior goalkeeper Kaylin Williams (Kansas City, Mo.-Winnetonka) registered a season-high eight saves, including five in the second half to keep EMU within striking distance.

Eastern Michigan faced a 2-nil deficit at halftime, as BGSU struck for goals in the second and 13th minutes.
