CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University football student-athlete Mathew Sexton (Clinton, Mich.-Clinton) was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week, the league office announced, today, Sept. 23. With Sexton's honor, EMU has had at least one player named a MAC West Player of the Week on offense, defense, or special teams in each week of the 2019 season.
Sexton made the game-winning play with a blocked punt and return of 30 yards for a touchdown in a 34-29 win over Central Connecticut State, Sept. 21.
