CHERRY HILL, N.J. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team kicked off its spring competition season with two first-place efforts, participating in the Cooper Invitational hosted by Bucknell University Sunday, April 7.
The Eagles began their day with the preliminary races, earning three spots in the Grand Finals and one slot in the Petite Finals. EMU's 1V8+ and Novice 8+ boats both earned the top qualifying times, completing the 2000m in 7:02.04 and 7:33.70, respectively. The 1V8+ toppled Colonial Athletic Association foes Bucknell, Villanova University, and University of Deleware's efforts by more than two seconds.
