Rowing Opens Season at the Head of the Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team competed in its first meet of the season, Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Head of the Oklahoma. EMU raced three boats throughout the day and saw solid results all around.

In the first race of the day, the Varsity 8 boat competed in the 20-team Women's Collegiate 8+ race. The squad finished in 10th place, which was two spots down from its 2015 finish, but the Eagles improved on their 2015 time of 15:40.81 with a 15:16.302 finish this season.

Following that, the Eagles split the Varsity 8 boat into two Varsity 4's for the Women's Collegiate 4+ Row for the Cure race.
