AKRON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Akron may be the tire capital of the world, but it was the Eastern Michigan University baseball team that owned the rubber today, March 9, as it cruised past the Zips, 9-2, at Skeeles Field.
The contest, the first of a four-game weekend series between the schools, moves Eastern (5-5, 1-0 MAC) up to .500 on the season, and 1-0 in Mid-American Conference play. Every MAC win is crucial in 2021 after the conference elected to move to a regular-season champion model of determining the league's automatic bid into NCAA regional play.
