CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference (MAC) announced Eastern Michigan men's cross country student-athlete Sam Peterson as the MAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week Tuesday, Sept. 3.
The honor marks the first of Peterson's (Charlevoix, Mich./Charlevoix) career, and comes after he led the Eagles to a first-place finish (31 points) at the 39th Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial, hosted by Central Michigan University, Aug. 30. At the Drenth, Peterson placed third in the 5K in a personal-best 14:56.9. Additionally, he was the highest placing MAC finisher of the race.
