CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University junior Zachary Owings (Saline, Mich.-Saline) was named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team and the All-MAC Defensive Team, the league office announced, May 21, in a vote by the league's head coaches. The 2019 season marks the 14th straight year that an EMU player has earned all-conference honors.
With the honor, Owings has been named one of the league's best in consecutive years, as the then-sophomore took home First Team All-MAC and All-MAC defensive honors a season ago. The Saline, Mich. native is the first Eagle to garner back-to-back all-conference honors since Brent Ohrman did so in 2011-12, and is the first player to earn all-league accolades under Head Coach Eric Roof.
