OXFORD, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team kicked off the Mid-American Conference Tournament with a 3-0 sweep of No. 8-seeded Kent State University Thursday, Nov. 15. The No. 5 Eagles advance to take on No. 4 University at Buffalo Friday, Nov. 16, at 4:30 p.m.
EMU and KSU locked in a tight match from the beginning, but ultimately Eastern was able to pull away and knock out the Golden Flashes, 28-26, 25-19, 25-20.
Senior Jordan Smith (Solon, Iowa-Solon) continued her recent hot streak, pounding 18 kills on 51 attempts while also contributing four total blocks and an ace.
