KALAMAZOO, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – A complete game masterpiece by junior Nicolle Miranda (Wilmington, Calif.-Port of Los Angeles) pushed the Eastern Michigan University softball team past Western Michigan University, 1-0, at Ebert Field Friday, May 4. Head Coach Melissa Gentile picked up her 100th career win, while EMU (10-37, 6-15 MAC) beat Western (26-23, 12-10 MAC) for the first time since 2011.
Miranda turned in her best outing of the season, striking out eight over a full seven innings of work, while yielding just four hits. It was Miranda's most strikeouts since fanning eight against Northern Illinois, April 22, 2016.
