NORMAN, Okla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced today, July 19, that the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team received the President's Special Recognition Academic Team Award following the 2016-17 season.
The Eagles were one of just 19 Division I teams to receive the special honor. Additionally, Eastern was the only Mid-American Conference school to receive the distinction. To receive the President's Special Recognition award, teams must have an overall team GPA of 3.5 or better.
In total, 39 teams across Division I, II, III, and NAIA received the honor. The Green and White were also named an All-Academic Team for their academic success.
