YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Hard-nosed basketball, full of physicality and valiant displays of effort were shown inside the Convocation Center today, Jan. 9, as the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team captured its first Mid-American Conference victory of the season after stunning the University of Akron, 71-59.
For the Eagles (3-3; 1-2 MAC), their triumph over Akron (4-2; 2-1) snapped the Zips' three-game win streak, while holding UA's Loren Christian Jackson to just 10 points. Coming into the game, Jackson had been averaging 25.4 points per game, which lead the MAC and ranked fourth in the nation.
