Meis Shines Despite Setback to Mississippi State

STARKVILLE, Miss. (EMUEagles.com) – Holding a 1-0 lead heading in to the bottom of the ninth, the Eastern Michigan University baseball team was walked off by No. 3 Mississippi State University, 4-1, at Dudy Noble Field, March 13.

For the Eagles, it was Justin Meis (Pittsburgh, Pa.-Bethel Park) that shined the entire game. The junior threw eight innings of scoreless baseball, which marked the longest run Mississippi State (12-3, 0-0 MAC) has been held without scoring a run this season. Meis' 8.0 innings pitched marked a career-high, while also facing a career-high 32 batters and striking out four during his outing.
