CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University men's cross country junior Baldvin Magnusson (Akureyri, Iceland-Hull University) was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week for the period ending Nov. 1, the league office announced today, Nov. 3. For the Green and Yellow harrier, this was his first time earning the distinction.
At the Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships, Magnusson captured his first individual Mid-American Conference title as he led the Eagles' to their third-straight MAC title, Oct. 30, with an 8K time of 24:05.7. Additionally, the Iceland native dethroned two-time individual winner, Josh Park of Ohio, to become the first EMU harrier since Hylnur Andersson in 2017 to claim the top spot in the league showdown.
