TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Former Eastern Michigan University baseball pitcher Luke DeVenney (Des Moines, Iowa-Dowling Catholic) has signed a professional contract and will join the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League.
DeVenney had a splendid final season in the Green and White as EMU's top pitcher, as well as a two-way threat in the outfield for the baseball program. The righty led EMU with a 2.49 ERA in 94.0 innings pitched, including 56 strikeouts and a 6-2 overall record. His ERA ranked third in the conference and 59th in the nation, while his innings pitched were fourth-most in the MAC.
