INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Julia Lombardi (Oakville, Ontario-Queen Elizabeth Park) of the Eastern Michigan women's soccer team was selected as a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award. The NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
Lombardi, who excelled in the classroom with a 3.99 GPA in biology and chemistry, provided the Eagles with solid play at outside back. Starting a career-high 17 matches for the Green and White, Lombardi's stout defensive effort helped the Eagles to a pair of shutouts.
