MUNCIE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University football team fought back to erase a seven-point deficit with just over four minutes on the clock, but ultimately fell short, 38-31, in its Mid-American Conference matchup with Ball State University tonight, Nov. 11, at Scheumann Stadium.
Down eight, 31-24, with 5:02 remaining in the game, junior quarterback Preston Hutchinson (Mason, Ohio-Mason) engineered a three-play, 75-yard scoring drive which culminated with a one-yard touchdown run by the first-year signal caller. The best play of the series came from sophomore wide out Tanner Knue (Mason, Ohio-Mason), who hauled in a career-best 71-yard reception on the second play of the 50-second set to put the Eagles in great position to score.
