PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior running back Samson Evans (Crystal Lakes, Ill./Prairie Ridge/Iowa) has been named to the 2023 Maxwell Award Watchlist, the Maxwell Football Club announced today, July 31. The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the nation's college football player of the year.
Evans is one of five Mid-American Conference players named to the 85-man list.
Recently, Evans was named to Athlon Sports' Preseason All-MAC First Team list and was tabbed for Phil Steele's All-MAC Second Team honors as well. Evans earned his first all-conference honors in 2022 after a historic season in the backfield for EMU.
