YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Head Women's Basketball Coach Fred Castro announced the addition of Iona College transfer and reigning Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Year, Toyosi Abiola (London, England-City of London Academy (Iona)) (pronounced Toy-yo-see Ab-EE-oh-lah) for the 2018-19 academic year. Abiola joins the Eagles for the upcoming season with three years of eligibility remaining, but will not be eligible to play until the 2019-20 campaign due to NCAA transfer rules.
"We are ecstatic to add a player of Toyosi's caliber," Castro said. "Obviously she had a standout freshman year, being named rookie of the year in the MAAC.
