YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University Rowing team acted as host for the 2018 Special Olympics Michigan State Kayaking Finals, Sunday, Sept. 30, at its boathouse on Ford Lake in Ypsilanti, Mich. The coaches and student-athletes of the Eagles rowing team led the operations of the third annual event for members of Special Olympics Michigan.
The 2018 State Kayaking Finals were a part of the Special Olympics Michigan's State Fall Games, a yearly championship event for approximately 1,600 Special Olympics Michigan athletes to showcase their skills in various sporting events. This was the third year that kayaking has been a part of the State Fall Games, and the third year EMU has been a part of the volunteer efforts for the event.
