NORMAL, Ill. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team defeated Illinois State University Friday, Jan. 21, 193.950-192.650. The Eagles move to 2-1 overall this season, and are 1-0 in Mid-American Conference competitions.

"This team did an amazing job despite the score," said Head Coach Katie Minasola. "They stuck together and had some amazing performances. I am so proud of their ability to maintain focus throughout the meet."

Eastern started on bars, scoring 48.575, and trailed Illinois State's 48.725. Junior Molly Parris (Hudson, Ohio-Hudson) and sophomore Anna Grace McCullough (Birmingham, Ala.
