DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – For the first time in program history, the Eastern Michigan University cheer program is national champions.
The Eagles claimed the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Intermediate Small Coed Division IA title Friday, April 9, besting Coastal Carolina University and UCF Knights Cheer Club.
"I am beyond proud of these athletes and the work they put in this season," said Head Cheer Coach/Spirit Coordinator Mary Spilski. "We were making changes to the routine as recent as this morning while walking off the warmup mat and onto the finals stage.
