THREE RIVERS, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team opened the 2019 season Sept. 6 at the George Dales Invitational hosted by Western Michigan University. The Eagles posted eight of the top-10 finishers at the 5k race.
Sweeping the podium spots, Karlie Swanson (New South Wales, Australia-Bellingen), Emily Smith (Somerset, England-Wells Cathedral School), and Natalie Cizmas (Clinton Twp., Mich.-Chippewa Valley) finished with times of 17:20.96, 17:27.94, and 17:29.90, respectively, to lead the Green and White.
