EUGENE, Ore. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University redshirt senior Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland-Mountain Ridge) concluded his career as an Eagle today, June 6, at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
The Iceland native competed in the 3000m steeplechase semifinals, but was unable to finish due to physical ailments.
"Hlynur unfortunately had some physical issues leading into his race," EMU Head Coach John Goodridge said. "He remains an incredible EMU story of development and will always be one of our great ones."
Despite a disappointing conclusion, Andresson will go down as one of the most decorated distance runners to ever come through Eastern Michigan, having accumulated multiple Mid-American Conference Championships in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track and field.
