YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – With the drafting of Sidy Sow, Jose Ramirez, Emoni Bates, and Luke Russo, Eastern Michigan University has had at least one player selected in the NFL, NBA, and MLB draft for the eighth time in school history.
This marks the first time EMU has accomplished the feat since the 1998 athletics year, when former Eagles Charlie Batch (1994-97) was selected by the Detroit Lions (round two, pick 60) in the NFL Draft, Derrick Dial (1995-98) was taken by the San Antonio Spurs (round two, pick 52) in the NBA Draft, and both Gregory Ryan (1996-98) and Troy Niehaus (1996-98) were picked in the MLB Draft.
