YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team dropped its fifth consecutive match Friday evening, Sept. 30, at Scicluna Field. The Eagles (2-7-2, 0-3-0 MAC) netted the match's first goal before conceding three unanswered tallies to Ball State University, ultimately falling, 3-1.
The first half featured just five shots, despite a number of solid opportunities by each team. Ball State (8-2-1, 3-0-0 MAC) earned a pair of early corners but the Eagles' defense stood tall and fended off the set pieces.
Controlling the pace of the game after a stout defensive play by junior Chanel Vani (Brampton, Ontario-Cardinal Leger), the Green and White turned to the attack.
