YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team won its opening dual of 2018 with a 5-2 victory over Youngstown State University, Jan. 26, in Ypsilanti, Mich.
"It is really great to start off the season with the win and get my first win as coach out of the way early in the season," said Head Coach Jayson Wiseman. "Having coached in the Horizon league, I know how good YSU is every year, Coach Sopel is an excellent coach and his team's have consistently finished at the top of their conference. Getting a win against a team that has competed in the NCAA tournament 3 or 4 times in the last five years, and beat us 4-3 last season is something our team can definitely build on.
