AKRON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team concluded the first day of the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in second place with a team score of 27 points Friday, Feb. 28 inside Stile Athletics Field House.
Redshirt senior co-captain Emily Smith (Somerset, England-Wells Cathedral School) finished in third place in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:56.44. A pair of Eagles also earned high marks in the field events, as junior Kadian Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica-Immaculate Conception) placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 19.
