CINCINNATI, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University lacrosse team fought valiantly, but ultimately fell short to fellow first-year program Xavier University, 11-10, Sunday, March 12, at Corcoran Field in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The visiting Green and White offense had a great showing as five different Eagles found themselves on the scoring sheet with two earning hat tricks. Freshman Mackenzie Blackwell (North Beach, Md.-Northern) led the way as she collected four points off four goals (4-of-14), one groundball, one caused turnover and three draw controls, while Sydney Lawrence (Wylie, Texas-Plano Senior-Oregon) followed with three points off three goals (3-of-11), two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and four draw controls.
