Eagles Conclude Weekend With 5-3 11th Inning Win

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team wrapped up the weekend with a thrilling 5-3 win in extra innings over Mid-American Conference rival Western Michigan Sunday afternoon, April 24 at Hyames Field. The Eagles (14-22, 6-6 MAC) sprung for two runs in the 11th inning for their second extra inning win of the season.

The pitching, especially in the late innings, carried the day for EMU in the contest. Junior Sam Delaplane (San Jose, Calif.-Leigh) claimed his team-leading fourth win of the season after going three sturdy innings in relief, only allowing three hits while striking out three as well.
