CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University senior Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) was named the Mid-American Conference Golfer of the Week for the second time in his career today, Feb. 11. The honor comes after a strong showing at Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play, Feb. 7-8, where the squad earned the title for the third time.
Collins notched a 3-0 record the event while playing in the No. 2 position. In his first match, he defeated Xavier's Michael Prebles, 3&2, before ousting Dayton's Henry May (UD), 1-up. In the championship, match, Collins advanced with a 2-up decision over Toledo's Jamie Tofte Nielsen.
