RIO VERDE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – Behind the solid play of sophomore Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) and junior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval), the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished in 11th place at the Rio Verde Invitational with a 54-hole mark of 923 (308-305-310) Sunday, Feb. 25, on the par-72 Quail Run Golf Course.
Connelly finished tied for fifth place with a 223 (77-75-71) and Guilleux took seventh with a 224 (73-74-77), making EMU one of just two teams in the tournament to boast a pair of top 10 finishers.
