CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University men's track & field student-athlete Carson McCoy was named Mid-American Conference (MAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday, Feb. 11.
McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Deer Lakes) earned the honor for the first time in his career after clocking a conference-best and personal-record 1:50.28 800m run, finishing fifth at the Michigan Invitational, Feb. 8.
McCoy's award marks Eastern's third of the season. Previously, Lucky Fiaku (Nimo, Nigeria/Busy International Secondary) earned the MAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week award and Josephine Oloye (Iwaro-Oka, Nigeria/Geomi Secondary School/Tayelolu Memorial) garnered the MAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week accolade earlier in the season, Dec.
