YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team put together a strong performance on the mound, but came up short against Miami University, 3-1, Saturday, March 24, at Oestrike Stadium.
The Eagles (5-15, 0-2 MAC) manufactured a run in the bottom of the eighth inning, and brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth, but were denied their first conference victory against the RedHawks (13-6, 2-0 MAC).
Junior Jackson Shaver (Grand Rapids, Mich.-Forest Hills Northern (Grand Rapids C.C.)) lasted a career-high six innings for the Green and White, allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out three.
