MT. PLEASANT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team fell short of the weekend sweep in a 12-3 defeat to Central Michigan University Sunday afternoon, May 6, at Theunissen Stadium. Despite the defeat, EMU (18-27, 11-10 MAC) won a weekend series over CMU (20-25-1, 12-9 MAC) for the second straight time.
The highlight of the day came offensively from freshman Nate Jones (Battle Creek, Mich.-Lakeview) who extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a boom, a three-run home run, the first of his EMU career. Junior John Rensel Jr.
