KALAMAZOO, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team suffered a series-opening loss at the hands of Western Michigan University today, May 3, at Robert J. Bobb Stadium. A pitcher's duel at the front end, both Eastern (11-34-1; 6-13 MAC) and Western (14-26; 6-11 MAC) were held scoreless through the first four innings, as the two clubs combined for just five hits, all of which were singles.
Offensively, the Eagles struck first. With one out in the fifth inning, senior John Rensel Jr. (Tallmadge, Ohio-Tallmadge) smashed a double down the right field line.
