TAMPA, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team had one competitor qualify for the NCAA Championships during the second day of regionals Friday, May 25, in Tampa, Fla.
Redshirt senior Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland-Mountain Ridge) advanced to the NCAA Championships for the first time after racing to a personal-record 3000m steeplechase time of 8:44.11. Not only does that time rank fourth overall in the pool of runners, it also ranks seventh in the EMU outdoor record book, and serves as a new Icelandic record for the steeplechase.
