BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team opened its indoor season Friday, Dec. 8, as the Eagles competed at the Hoosier Open in Bloomington, Ind. Although only some of the distance runners participated, the meet served as a solid opportunity for those involved to compete against strong talent from respectable programs.
As the Green and White only competed in the 5000m, redshirt senior Hlynur Andresson (Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland-Mountain Ridge) ended the night with the highest place of any Eagle, finishing seventh in 14:11.10. Fellow redshirt senior Lahsene Bouchikhi (Antwerp, Belgium-Stedelijk Lyceum Paardenmarkt Luchthaven) placed 10th as the second Eagle to cross the finish line, marking a time of 14:30.
