INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) -- After turning in a strong senior campaign, recent graduate Abby Davidson (Westerville, Ohio-Olentangy Orange) was named the 2016 NCAA Division I Softball Statistical Champion as the toughest player to strikeout alongside Chloe Oro of Delaware St. The full list of NCAA Division I Statistical Champions can be found here.
Davidson is the first Eagle to be honored as a NCAA Statistical Champion since 2012-13 when the EMU men's basketball team led the nation in field goal percentage defense. Additionally, Davidson is the first individual to garner the distinction since EMU women's basketball's Marion Crandall led the country in three-point field goal percentage for the 2003-04 season.
