He holds the university record for basketball victories with 185, was named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year three times, directed the basketball team to Mid-American Conference and MAC Tournament Championships three times, and led EMU to three NCAA post-season tournament appearances – including a "Sweet 16" run in the 1990-91 season.
