Three early goals proved to be too overwhelming for the East Carolina University soccer team to fully overcome as the Pirates fell to North Carolina State University 5-2 on Wednesday night.
With this loss, ECU dropped to 3-4-1 on the season while the Wolfpack improved to 5-3-0.
Senior midfielder Tziarra King broke free on the left side of the ECU box and crossed in front of the goal where senior midfielder Ricci Walkling was able to score, giving the Wolfpack the lead in just four minutes and 22 seconds into the first half. Barely two minutes later, King got another assist, this time it was senior midfielder Paige Griffiths who was there to score.
