The tournament was hosted by ECU and held at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville over the weekend and ECU faced several strong teams.
Head coach Kevin Williams said he knew Old Dominion would be ECU’s toughest competition in the field, but felt depth was a big advantage for ECU.
“I felt like we are deeper than they are. I felt like our five were better than their five, plus being at home I think that helped us a lot,” Williams said.
Three top-10 performances and a strong finish in the third round by sophomore Lisa Pettersson and senior Nicoline Engstroem Skaug led the Pirates to a seven stroke win over the second place finisher Old Dominion, which shot 34 over-par 898.
