Sunday, the Pirates were looking to end their three-game losing streak to the conference leading Mustangs.
The first set was a back-and-forth contest with the biggest lead being only five points, which belonged to the Mustangs. After a tough contest in the first set with both teams battling, the Pirates fell in the first set 25-22.
In the second set, the Mustangs started to take control and lead by as much as 10 points. The closest ECU got in the second set was within eight points. ECU ended up losing the second set 25-16.
Trying to stay alive in the game, the Pirates had one more chance to win otherwise it would result in their fourth straight loss.
