The East Carolina University volleyball team traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana and Memphis, Tennessee over the weekend to take on Tulane University and the University of Memphis where the Pirates extended their losing streak from four to six.
The second game of the weekend resulted in another disappointment after the Pirates were defeated by the Tigers (11-12; AAC 4-7) in a 2-3 matchup. ECU excelled over Memphis with 14 blocks while Memphis only had 7.5. Other than blocks, the Pirates had less kills, points and assists.
Despite the loss, sophomore setter Shelby Martin recorded the first ever triple-double in East Carolina program history with 10 kills, 14 digs and 34 assists.
