During Media Day on Friday, East Carolina University’s men’s basketball team head coach Jeff Lebo and senior guard B.J. Tyson addressed Tyson’s work during the offseason to recuperate from an injured knee as he heads into his senior year with the Pirates.
Last year as a junior, Tyson appeared in 25 games and made 18 starts, while missing seven games due to a knee injury that came on an alley-oop dunk on January 11. The injury kept him out of the lineup from Jan. 15 to Feb. 11.
"When you get hurt at the time of the season which he did, and you have to miss the amount of time that he missed, the team learns to play without you because they have to,” Lebo said.
