The East Carolina softball team’s high-powered hitters were shut down Friday night, as Tulsa’s Emily Watson pitched a no-hitter to defeat the Pirates 12-0 in game one of their weekend series at the ECU Softball Stadium.
Watson was in top form as she pitched all five innings in the game. Along with not allowing a hit or a run, she also struck out seven batters. All that kept her from a perfect game was two walked batters. Offensively, Tulsa (34-13, 12-1 American Athletic Conference) did not disappoint, getting 12 runs off of 11 hits, reminding the AAC why it’s in first place in the conference.
