Towson defensive coordinator Matt Hachmann doesn’t think East Carolina’s offense is entirely dependent on great quarterback play.
Despite the Pirates losing projected starting signal-caller Kurt Benkert last week to a season-ending knee injury, Hachmann said earlier this week the things that have mainly stood out to him with the Pirates arethe tempo of the offense and the multiple playmakers usually on the field.
“It’s not extremely complex from a schematic standpoint, but because of that tempo and the way they attack, it looks like they’re trying to create a breakdown within the defense,” Hachmann said. “They have been extremely explosive.
