As a freshman, and with a proven senior leader in his way, Lance Tejada did not get many opportunities to finish East Carolina basketball games last season.
Another senior started at point guard in the Pirates’ season opener against Grambling State on Friday, but it was Tejada, a 6-foot-2 sophomore, who logged the most playing time at the position, including key minutes down the stretch of the 61-53 victory in Minges Coliseum.
Antonio Robinson ran the point most of the time a season ago before graduating and plying his trade in a professional league in England, and Prince Williams, a 6-5 senior, earned the 12th start of his ECU career versus Grambling.
